Advanced Search Now More Advanced

 The Advanced Search page has allowed fans to do detailed movie searches, and now we've done the same thing for actor searches. Still utilizing the same advanced search page, that is linked from the search bar at the top center of every page, you can now choose to do a detailed search by movie and actor.
Advanced Search has been an integral part of the Adultfilmdatabase.com for many years. With this tool, fans have been able to search movies based on specific criteria including partial title, production year, director, studio, actor(s), genre and galleries. However, it was recently brought to our attention that we had no such specific criteria for actor searches -- until now. The revamped Advanced Search tool (pictured right) allows fans to now search for performers by partial name, gender, starting year, hair color, eye color, piercings, race, ethnicity, height, age, profile picture availability, galleries and number of titles.
The more specific the search, the fewer results returned. And as long as the search can be narrowed down to between 1 and 250 results, the search will yield a successful display listing. The search options selected in the image to the right currently yield one result -- the lovely Bridgette Monroe. Some search combinations may not yield any results or too many to be displayed. But by hitting back on your browser from the displayed results page, you can edit your search options and retry for different results.

We're Better than Ever

We're constantly adding new features to the adultfilmdatabase to make finding the performers and films you love as effortless as possible. Along those lines, we've got some goodies in store from our latest batch of updates.
As the large image above illustrates, we've made some changes to our actor pages, including but not limited to the filmography display (pictured). You can now browse movie credits with a "box cover" view option. Instead of seeing text titles, you can quickly peruse box cover thumbnails for something that appeals visually, simply by toggling the view option at the bottom of the filmography list.
We've also moved our filters up to the top of the filmography list on each actor page. You can, for example, select the "lesbian" category filter, and have the list only show lesbian-themed movies. You can also filter by year, studio, length and director, as well as partial title.

We've Got Adult Industry Awards!

Thanks to the hard work of our editor Todd, we now have 2600+ performer, movie and director awards listed including AVN, XRCO and XBiz. Todd has added AVN awards going all the way back to 1984.
Todd has also been updating performer profiles and trivia. It's through contributions from adult industry fans like Todd that we are able to maintain a free database of adult performers and their movies. If you would like to join Todd in making data or photo contributions, please visit our correction submission page.

New Mouseover Feature

We've just added a new layer of usability by adding a nifty mouseover feature on the home page as well as actor and movie pages. We've decided to add this feature as the adultfilmdatabase.com is very image rich. Currently, we have about two thousand actor profile images and over thirty-three thousand box covers and growing!
Anytime you place your mouse pointer over a performer name, when an actor profile image is available, the performer's thumbnail image displays next to his or her name. If no image is available, nothing will happen.
Additionally, on the home page, when you mouse over a top ten movie title, a medium-sized front box cover image along with the full movie name appears next to the truncated title. The same box art mousover occurs when you hover over movie titles in the filmography of an actor page, sans movie name pop-up, as we do not truncate movie titles on actor pages.
To illustrate these changes, I've moused over the movie Pirates II - Stagnetti's Revenge and took a screen capture. I did the same with Tera Patrick, then I combined the two screen captures (pictured).

Adultfilmdatabase Welcomes SugarDVD!

 It has been long overdue, but we are excited to be partnering up with major adult film web site, SugarDVD.
You may notice a SugarDVD link added to many movie vendor boxes as you browse films. They offer an unusually wide selection of titles for purchase on DVD and in streaming media format, as well as an impressive rental program with an extensive collection of adult films. In fact, SugarDVD is much like an adult version of Netflix, having offered streaming media services since 2 years ago -- that's roughly a year before Netflix launched its streaming services. SugarDVD also offers a pay-per-minute service, which, depending on the movie, starts at 7 cents per minute.

 Just a quick update here. We're now linking to Xcritic's thousands of adult reviews. You can see links to their reviews on the left hand side of our movie pages.
Some of their recent reviews include: Barely Legal 77, Apple Bottomz 4, and Pinup Perversions with Lela Star (I particularly like Don Houston's use of the term "population pudding")
If you haven't heard of Xcritic yet I highly recommend it. They write some of the best reviews in the business and are a great resource for the adult film industry.

Change is Good

 We've been hard at work adding and changing some things around here. First of all you can see the face lift of the home page. We're going to try and communicate with you the surfer on a more personal level. We want you to know we aren't some faceless company, this is actually a website run by a husband and wife. So we're adding what you'd call a "blog" format. Yeah, we're a little late to that game, but the adult industry hasn't stopped releasing titles in order for us to catch up. I blame them for keeping us so busy.
In the future you'll see entries about a variety of things. We hope to include changes on adultfilmdatabase, various promotions, possibly some contests, interesting news on the web and probably even some "editorials" on subjects we think need to be discussed.
Some other recent changes you've probably noticed is the ability to view large box cover images, both front and back. Not every movie has larger versions available, but many do. We also added the ability to comment on and rate all the images in our vast collection of galleries. Many of the new features require you to use our new login system, which we have a number of things planned for in the future. If you haven't created a login yet, I highly suggest you do. It takes only a few seconds, and I promise we won't send anything to your email other than your password. If you think you get spam, imagine how much an adult webmaster gets!
