Back in February, I reported on the casting of Katie Morgan and Traci Lords in Kevin Smith's latest film, Zak and Miri Make a Porno. The film is coming (haw haw) on Halloween 2008.
I've embedded a funny trailer that includes Traci Lords as "bubbles." You can also see Katie Morgan and Traci during the final seconds of the preview.
It took scene-cutting and filing a complaint, but Smith finally got the MPAA to give his film an R rating instead of the dreaded NC-17.
The original film poster (pictured below), was also banned in the USA by the MPAA, and will only be used in Canada. Wow, last time I checked, even if that is implying oral sex, you need to take your pants off first. The people who know what the poster may be implying are not the cute and innocent children we're trying to protect anyway, but apparently the dirty-minded MPAA censors know what's up -- err down.
Actually, Leksi is mostly correct about the editing: "The movie nearly got slapped with an NC-17, even after Smith trimmed a comedic sex scene between Morgan and Jason Mewes. The director appealed the rating to the MPAA to get the film reclassified as an R." from AVN article - http://avn.com/performer/articles/32111.html

My bad if I'm mistaken on the editing. I had heard rumors and thought I read something about it on film drunk. That's good to know, but not too surprising as Smith did win the MPAA ratings "battle" with Clerks sans edits.

There was no scene-cutting involved; Smith filed an appeal that got passed, and the movie was changed from an NC-17 to an R without any changes made to the movie.
