The red room looks like something out of an upscale bordello in some Euro-Asian country, but no, it's actually Sting and Trudie Styler's Master Bedroom in their $24-million Manhattan apartment. I've heard it said that having lots of money doesn't equate to having taste, and in this case, that statement reverberates loudly. The two tacky photographs are erotic pieces by Helmut Newton. One is a woman laying back on the backseat of a vintage Mercedes, while a man unzips her spiked heel. The other is self-explanatory. I'm not exactly sure what Sting and Trudie paid for those huge, gaudy pieces of erotica, but I bet they could have put a dozen kids through college with that money.
Trudie Styler says of the room:
I find it hot.
Well, at least we know Sting is getting laid.
The article goes on to mention all the multi-million dollar homes and estates the couple own, in such exclusive locations around the world as Malibu and Tuscany. Apparently, they unsuccessfully attempted to sell the bordello-master bedroom home (I wonder why?) and have since taken it off the market. They did however go ahead and purchase another, this time $30-million home, in a separate section of Manhattan (as if the bedroom didn't make you sick enough).
Trudie Styler is one fun fifty-something, though. She once made a comment how her and Sting are into the swinging scene, which she tried to retract. Supposedly they're also into Tantric Sex and strip clubs. Swing on! (But for the love of eyesight, get a new decorator!)

| I can't say I agree with your judgments. They can do whatever they want with their earned money and beauty (taste in this case) is in the eye of the beholder. They wanted this to reflect their personalities, which is, essentially, why you decorate in the first place. You don't live your life the way others want you to, do you? Very conventional wisdom... |
